Atletico Madrid are hoping to beat Real Betis to the signing of Manchester United’s Brazilian forward Antony.

Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Manchester United forward Antony after missing out on Atalanta forward Ademola Lukeman, who is on the verge of joining Inter Milan, Mundo Deportivo reported on Monday.

Atletico Madrid have reportedly tried to sign Lukman but have been unsuccessful. With the Nigeria international set to join Inter Milan after agreeing personal terms with the Nerazzurri.

The La Liga Club Atletico Madrid have turned their attentions to Manchester United forward Antony. With Real Betis previously attempting to sign the 25-year-old, but the Red Devils’ offer did not satisfy them. Leaving the Rojiblancos hoping to prise him away before the window closes.

Antony impressed during his loan spell at Real Betis in the second half of last season. Scoring nine goals and providing five assists, with the Red Devils reportedly valuing him at €40m. 

United are willing to cash in for around £30million. A price Real Betis have not yet offered, and their delay could see Atletico pounce.
